Activating the Renewal Email Templates

In this exercise, you activate the Renewal Reminder for Expired Entitlements email template and Renewal Intent for End Customer email template.

The Renewal Reminder for Expired Entitlements template is used by FlexNet Operations to send email messages to end users about their expired entitlements. (This is a separate email template from the one used for expiring entitlements identified by the Expiring Entitlements job.) The default version of this template lists all the account’s entitlements that have expired within the days specified for the system configuration setting, Expiring Window.
The Renewal Intent for End Customer template is used by FlexNet Operations to send intent-to-renew email messages when an end user selects an entitlement and clicks the Request button on the End-User Portal’s Expiring Entitlements page.

If these templates are not already in an active status, follow the instructions below to activate them.

To activate the Renewal Reminder for Expired Entitlements email template

1. In the Producer Portal, click Administer > Templates.
2. On the Templates page, find the Renewal Reminder for Expired Entitlements template and click its Template ID.
3. On the View Email Template page, click Edit > Edit Active Content.
4. Click Validate Template.
5. Click Save Active.

This activates the template. Repeat these steps for the Renewal Intent for End Customer template, if necessary.

When both email templates are active, you are ready to setup the Expired Entitlements job.
